Juicy Fruit
I wanted to create an outfit dedicated to fruit, using bright colors and a breezy, tropical feel, while still being everyday and cute. I love the lemon wedge bag and Cherry In The Air is one of my favorite perfumes. Honestly, fruit was always something I thought was weird to incorporate into fashion, but I suppose it is one of those really playful prints.

All American Lolita
Lately, I've been studying Britney Spears and the idea of the American teen idol. I can't say that it's what initially inspired this set, but I'm sure at least this issue of Rolling Stone helped me get more of a feel for what it called for. It was such a huge influence in current pop culture, whether people approved of it or not, and is such a defining moment in current American pop history. Ultimately, while I don't approve of sexualizing young girls AT ALL, the lolita style is something I find to be very cute and powerful in its own right. Any hint at sexuality aside, it promotes femininity and the idea that every female deserves to feel as sweet and girly as they want, unapologetically.

How Do You Style Gladiator Sandals? ~ My Third Polyvore Contest Entry
Keeping up with the contests, I decided I'd do this one as a quick, little, simple set. I'm personally really picky about gladiators, but I do own one pair of black flat ones that I love and are really difficult to style. These, I thought, were casual enough to wear out and about but can also be dressed up enough to look classy. I took both approaches here. I imagine this girl is going out for brunch with the girls or meeting his parents for the first time. (Or her. You never know.)
As simple as this is, I actually do like it. It's both beautiful and youthful.
